Several\u00a0<strong>multilingual resources<\/strong>\u00a0have spread online and have proved to be useful to quickly and reliably\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/creative-words.com\/en\/life-science\/\">translate the technical terms<\/a>\u00a0mostly used by the different institutions.<\/p>\n<h3>Translation platforms<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So here are some institutional sources where to find the right multilingual resources, useful to translate quickly and reliably the technical terms related to Covid19 mostly used by institutions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The official World Health Organization\u00a0website offers constantly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lnkd.in\/d8PY6yT\">updated resources<\/a>\u00a0available in 7 different languages<\/li>\n<li><strong>Epicentro<\/strong>, a network certified by WHO as a member of the \u201cVaccine Safety Net\u201d, provides\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lnkd.in\/d69Yah9\">reliable information in several languages<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>IOM \u2013 UN Migration<\/strong>\u00a0has published an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/IOMCovidEN\">informative brochure<\/a>\u00a0about prevention in 39 languages<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>European Commission<\/strong>\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/ECCovidEN\">Coronavirus page<\/a>\u00a0is available in 24 languages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Multilingual glossaries<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here are some precious links to multilingual glossaries of the translation and covid field:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IATE<\/strong>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lnkd.in\/dqx8Ev2\">terminology database of the\u00a0European Union<\/a>, the translation of 8 million terms is available in 24 languages<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Swiss Federal Administration<\/strong>\u00a0has made available<a href=\"https:\/\/lnkd.in\/dC-dz5C\">\u00a0TERMDAT<\/a>, a multilingual term database with fact sheets translated into 5 languages<\/li>\n<li>Non-profit organization\u00a0<strong>Translators without Borders<\/strong>\u00a0has made available a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lnkd.in\/dEe6HT7\">technical\u00a0glossary<\/a>, useful for industry interpreters, to translate the most commonly used keywords related to Covid-19<\/li>\n<li>The translation platform\u00a0<strong>Smartcat<\/strong>\u00a0launched\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lnkd.in\/dya-pDQ\">CovidTM<\/a>, a collaborative language resource open to all industry professionals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Linguistic resources<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now let\u2019s close up this in-depth analysis with a couple of links to other useful resources for translating Covid-19:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The<strong>\u00a0Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/strong>\u00a0makes available a great load of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lnkd.in\/dF73NrG\">multilingual information on anti-infection provision<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>LanguageAid APS<\/strong>, a<a href=\"https:\/\/lnkd.in\/dChjydY\">\u00a0free translation platform<\/a>, created with the aim of supporting from a linguistic point of view the operators who are dedicated to the reception of migrants<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Jumamap portal<\/strong>, an<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jumamap.it\/en\/\">\u00a0interactive platform<\/a>\u00a0that makes general information about the coronavirus available in 15 different languages<\/li>\n<li>On\u00a0<strong>EMERGENCY ONG Onlus\u2019s YouTube channel<\/strong>\u00a0there are several\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/lnkd.in\/dBDjfDS\">informative and simplified videos<\/a><\/span>\u00a0to make any official information more accessible to everyone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Translation and covid-19: the pandemic has put translators and linguists in front of a new challenge: translating correctly new scientific and technical terms to make the pandemic understandable for everyone. &nbsp; 1) Translation platoforms 2) Multilingual glossaries 3) Linguistic resources &nbsp; During the whole course of 2020, traslation and covid had to be developed.
